Job Description

In this role, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that the supply of platelets, a vital component of blood, is constantly replenished to meet the needs of patients across the country.   1. Develop and maintain a comprehensive schedule for platelet donations across the country.
  2. Coordinate with blood donation centers and volunteers to ensure an adequate supply of platelets at all times.
  3. Monitor and track platelet inventory levels and adjust schedules as needed.
  4. Collaborate with other departments and teams to identify areas of need and strategize ways to meet donation goals.
  5. Train and supervise a team of platelet schedulers to ensure efficient and effective scheduling practices.
  6. Communicate with donors to provide information and resources on platelet donation and encourage regular donations.
  7. Utilize data and analytics to forecast platelet needs and make data-driven scheduling decisions.
  8. Maintain accurate records and documentation of scheduled appointments and platelet donations.
  9. Continuously evaluate and improve scheduling processes to increase efficiency and accuracy.
  10. Adhere to all safety and regulatory guidelines related to blood and platelet donation.
  11. Represent the American Red Cross in a professional and positive manner to donors, volunteers, and the public.
  12. Stay informed of industry developments and advancements in platelet donation and make recommendations for improvement to leadership.
  13. Handle any scheduling conflicts or emergencies in a timely and effective manner.
  14. Collaborate with marketing and communication teams to promote platelet donation and educate the public on its importance.
  15. Attend meetings and training sessions as required by the organization.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Healthcare Administration, Nursing, Or Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience In Blood Banking Or Healthcare Scheduling.

  • Proficient In Computer Software And Database Management.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Collaboratively With Team Members And External Stakeholders.
