  4. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment inventory.

  7. Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while performing maintenance tasks.
  8. Work independently or with a team to complete larger projects or repairs.
  9. Assist in training and supervising volunteers or other maintenance staff.
  10. Represent the American Red Cross and promote its mission and values in all interactions with the community and stakeholders.

Job Qualifications

  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A General Maintenance Technician At American Red Cross Should Have A Minimum Educational Background Of A High School Diploma Or Equivalent. This Ensures A Basic Level Of Knowledge And Understanding In Areas Such As Math, Reading, And Communication.

  • Technical Training Or Certification: Depending On The Specific Job Requirements, The Ideal Candidate Should Have Completed Some Form Of Technical Training Or Certification In Areas Such As Electrical, Plumbing, Hvac, Or Carpentry. This Demonstrates A Specialized Skill Set And Knowledge In Maintenance And Repair Tasks.

  • Experience In Maintenance Or Repair Work: Previous Experience In General Maintenance Or Repair Work Is Highly Desirable For This Position. Candidates With Experience In A Similar Role Will Have A Better Understanding Of The Job Responsibilities And Be Able To Hit The Ground Running With Minimal Training.

  • Attention To Detail: A General Maintenance Technician Must Have A Keen Eye For Detail To Identify And Address Any Potential Maintenance Issues. They Should Also Be Able To Follow Instructions And Procedures Accurately To Ensure The Safety And Functionality Of The Facilities.

  • Physical Ability And Stamina: This Job Requires Physical Labor And The Ability To Lift, Carry, And Move Heavy Objects. Candidates Should Be Physically Fit And Have The Stamina To Perform Tasks Throughout The Day. This May Also Include Working At Heights And In Various Weather Conditions.
