  1. Perform routine maintenance tasks such as repairing equipment, painting, and cleaning to ensure safe and functional facilities for staff and clients.
  2. Conduct regular inspections of facilities and report any issues or needed repairs to management in a timely manner.
  3. Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff and address issues efficiently and effectively.
  4. Troubleshoot and repair any mechanical, electrical, or plumbing problems that arise.
  5. Maintain accurate records of maintenance performed and materials used.
  6. Collaborate with other team members to develop and implement preventative maintenance plans.
  7. Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures while performing maintenance tasks.
  8. Ensure that all maintenance activities are in compliance with company policies and procedures.
  9. Assist with the planning and execution of special projects and renovations as needed.
  10. Provide excellent customer service to staff, clients, and visitors by responding to inquiries and requests in a professional and courteous manner.
  11. Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
  12. Keep up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in maintenance and make recommendations for improvement.
  13. Maintain a clean and organized work area and properly store all tools and equipment.
  14. Adhere to budget constraints and seek out cost-effective solutions when making repairs or purchases.

Job Qualifications

  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A General Maintenance Technician At American Red Cross Should Have A Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Equivalent. This Ensures That The Candidate Has A Basic Level Of Education And Knowledge To Understand And Follow Instructions And Safety Procedures.

  • Technical Skills: A General Maintenance Technician Should Have Technical Skills In Areas Such As Plumbing, Electrical, Carpentry, And Hvac Systems. These Skills Are Necessary To Perform Various Maintenance Tasks And Troubleshoot Any Issues That May Arise.

  • Experience In Maintenance Work: Prior Experience In Maintenance Work Is Preferred For This Position. Candidates Should Have A Minimum Of 1-2 Years Of Experience In A Similar Role, Preferably In A Non-Profit Or Healthcare Setting.

  • Ability To Work Independently: A General Maintenance Technician Should Be Able To Work Independently And Have Good Time Management Skills. This Role May Require The Candidate To Work On Multiple Tasks Simultaneously And Prioritize Tasks Based On Urgency.
