  1. Perform phlebotomy procedures to collect blood donations from donors at our donor centers.
  2. Maintain a safe and clean work environment, following all safety protocols and procedures.
  3. Adhere to all regulatory and organizational guidelines for blood collection and handling.
  4. Ensure accurate labeling and documentation of blood donations and related paperwork.
  5. Provide exceptional customer service to donors, answering any questions and addressing any concerns.
  6. Monitor donor reactions and take appropriate action in case of adverse reactions.
  7. Assist in setting up and maintaining equipment and supplies needed for blood collection.
  8. Collaborate with other team members to ensure a smooth and efficient donation process.
  9. Maintain confidentiality and privacy of donor information at all times.
  10. Participate in training and development opportunities to improve phlebotomy skills and knowledge.
  11. Adhere to the American Red Cross' mission, values, and code of conduct.
  12. Maintain accurate records and reports of blood donations and donor information.
  13. Follow proper protocols for handling and transporting blood donations.
  14. Adhere to all infection control and safety procedures to prevent the spread of diseases.
  15. Provide support to other roles and departments within the American Red Cross as needed.

Job Qualifications

  • Certified Phlebotomist: The Candidate Should Possess A Valid Phlebotomy Certification From An Accredited Institution, Demonstrating Their Knowledge And Skills In Performing Blood Draws And Handling Specimens.

  • Experience In Blood Collection: The Ideal Candidate Should Have At Least 1-2 Years Of Experience Working As A Phlebotomist, Preferably In A Blood Donation Setting. This Ensures They Are Familiar With The Procedures And Protocols Involved In Collecting Blood Donations.

  • Knowledge Of Donor Center Operations: The Candidate Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of The Operations And Processes Involved In A Donor Center, Including Donor Screening, Blood Collection, And Storage Protocols.

  • Excellent Communication Skills: As A Donor Center Phlebotomist, The Candidate Will Be Interacting With A Diverse Group Of Donors On A Daily Basis. Therefore, Strong Communication Skills, Both Verbal And Written, Are Essential For Effectively Explaining Procedures And Addressing Any Concerns.

  • Compassionate And Empathetic: Working With Blood Donors, Who May Be Anxious Or Nervous, Requires A Compassionate And Empathetic Attitude. The Candidate Should Have A Patient And Caring Demeanor To Help Donors Feel At Ease During The Donation Process.
