Job Description

Are you a skilled phlebotomist with a passion for helping others? The American Red Cross is seeking a Donor Center Phlebotomist to join our dedicated team. In this role, you will play a vital role in our life-saving mission by collecting blood donations from donors at our donor centers.   1. Collect blood donations from donors at our donor centers.
  2. Ensure a safe and comfortable donation experience for donors.
  3. Perform phlebotomy procedures according to established protocols.
  4. Maintain accurate and detailed records of donations.
  5. Ensure proper handling and storage of blood donations.
  6. Provide excellent customer service to donors, addressing any questions or concerns.
  7. Monitor and maintain inventory of supplies and equipment.
  8. Adhere to safety and infection control procedures.
  9. Work collaboratively with other team members to meet donation goals.
  10. Maintain confidentiality of donor information.
  11. Participate in ongoing training and education to stay current on phlebotomy techniques and procedures.
  12. Adhere to all regulatory and organizational policies and procedures.
  13. Assist with donor recruitment and retention efforts.
  14. Handle and report any donor reactions or adverse events.
  15. Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  16. Represent the American Red Cross in a professional and compassionate manner.
  17. Demonstrate a commitment to the organization's mission and values.
  18. Continuously strive for personal and professional growth.
  19. Attend and actively participate in team meetings and trainings.
  20. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Job Qualifications
  • Current Phlebotomy Certification: The Donor Center Phlebotomist Must Possess A Valid Phlebotomy Certification From A Reputable Organization, Such As The American Society Of Phlebotomy Technicians Or The National Phlebotomy Association.

  • Experience In Blood Collection: The Ideal Candidate For This Role Should Have A Minimum Of 1-2 Years Of Experience In Blood Collection, Preferably In A Fast-Paced, High-Volume Environment.

  • Knowledge Of Blood Collection Procedures: A Strong Understanding Of The Various Procedures Involved In Blood Collection, Including Venipuncture, Fingerstick, And Arm Preparation, Is Essential For This Role.

  • Excellent Communication Skills: The Donor Center Phlebotomist Will Be Responsible For Interacting With Donors And Ensuring Their Comfort And Safety During The Donation Process. Therefore, Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are A Must.

  • Ability To Work Flexible Hours: This Role May Require Working Evening, Weekend, And Holiday Shifts, Depending On The Needs Of The Donor Center. The Ideal Candidate Should Be Able To Accommodate A Flexible Schedule.
