  1. Perform phlebotomy procedures on blood donors with accuracy and efficiency.
  2. Maintain a clean and organized donor center environment in accordance with safety and infection control protocols.
  3. Communicate effectively with donors to ensure a positive donation experience and address any questions or concerns.
  4. Adhere to all standard operating procedures and regulations related to blood collection, storage, and transportation.
  5. Complete all necessary paperwork and documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
  6. Monitor donor wellness and report any adverse reactions or concerns to appropriate staff.
  7. Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth and efficient operation of the donor center.
  8. Attend required training and continuing education to maintain proficiency in phlebotomy techniques and knowledge of blood donation regulations.
  9. Maintain confidentiality of donor information and follow all HIPAA guidelines.
  10. Demonstrate professionalism, compassion, and respect towards donors and coworkers at all times.

Job Qualifications
  • Certified Phlebotomist: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Valid Certification In Phlebotomy From A Recognized Institution, Ensuring Their Competency In Drawing Blood And Performing Other Related Tasks.

  • Previous Experience: A Minimum Of 1-2 Years Of Experience In Phlebotomy Is Preferred, With A Focus On Working In A Donor Center Or Blood Bank Environment. This Will Demonstrate The Candidate's Familiarity With The Specific Protocols And Procedures Followed In These Settings.

  • Knowledge Of Blood Donation Procedures: A Strong Understanding Of The Blood Donation Process, Including Donor Eligibility Criteria, Screening Procedures, And Collection Methods Is Essential For This Role. Knowledge Of The Fda Regulations And Aabb Standards For Blood Collection Is Also Desirable.

  • Excellent Communication Skills: As A Donor Center Phlebotomist, The Candidate Will Often Be The First Point Of Contact For Donors. Therefore, Effective Communication Skills, Both Verbal And Written, Are Crucial For Providing Clear Instructions, Answering Questions, And Addressing Any Concerns That Donors May Have.

  • Ability To Work In A Fast-Paced Environment: Donor Centers Can Be Busy And Fast-Paced, With Multiple Donors Coming In At Once. The Candidate Should Be Able To Thrive In Such An Environment, Possessing The Ability To Multitask, Prioritize, And Work Efficiently Under Pressure While Maintaining Accuracy And Attention To Detail.
