As a Disaster Program Manager, you will play a crucial role in leading and coordinating disaster response efforts in our community.   1. Lead and coordinate disaster response efforts in the community as part of the American Red Cross team.
  2. Develop and implement disaster response plans and procedures to ensure effective and efficient response to emergencies and disasters.
  3. Provide strategic direction and guidance to disaster response team members, including volunteers and other staff members.
  4. Collaborate with local government agencies, community organizations, and other stakeholders to build partnerships and support for disaster relief efforts.
  5. Manage and maintain disaster response resources, including supplies, equipment, and facilities.
  6. Train and educate community members on disaster preparedness and response, and promote the importance of disaster risk reduction.
  7. Conduct needs assessments and evaluate the impact of disasters in the community to inform response strategies.
  8. Monitor and report on disaster response activities, including progress, challenges, and outcomes.
  9. Ensure compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and regulations in all disaster response efforts.
  10. Serve as a spokesperson and representative for the American Red Cross in disaster response efforts, communicating the organization's mission and goals.
  11. Provide support and guidance to disaster response volunteers, including recruitment, training, and recognition.
  12. Continuously evaluate and improve disaster response processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  13. Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging trends in disaster management to inform decision-making and improve response efforts.
  14. Maintain accurate records and documentation of disaster response activities and outcomes.
  15. Uphold the values and principles of the American Red Cross in all aspects of the job.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Emergency Management, Public Administration, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 3-5 Years Experience In Emergency Response, Disaster Management, Or Related Field.

  • Knowledge Of Federal, State, And Local Disaster Response Protocols And Regulations.

  • Strong Leadership And Communication Skills, With The Ability To Manage And Coordinate A Team Of Volunteers And Staff.

  • Experience In Budget Management And Grant Writing For Disaster Relief Efforts.
