
Disaster Program Manager

- Develop and implement disaster preparedness plans and strategies for the assigned region
- Oversee and coordinate disaster response efforts, including sheltering, feeding, and providing other essential services to those affected by disasters
- Train and manage a team of volunteers to effectively respond to disasters and provide support to impacted communities
- Collaborate with local government agencies, community organizations, and other stakeholders to ensure a coordinated and effective response to disasters
- Monitor and assess the needs of impacted communities and adjust response efforts accordingly
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all response activities and expenses
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and guidelines related to disaster response and relief efforts
- Provide regular updates and reports to senior management and other stakeholders on the status of disaster response efforts
- Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement in disaster response processes and procedures
- Represent the American Red Cross in external meetings and events related to disaster response and preparedness
- Serve as a point of contact for media inquiries and coordinate media relations during disaster response efforts.
Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Disaster Response And Management.
Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Emergency Management, Public Administration, Or A Related Field.
Knowledge And Understanding Of Federal, State, And Local Emergency Protocols And Procedures.
Strong Leadership And Project Management Skills, With The Ability To Coordinate And Oversee Large-Scale Disaster Relief Operations.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work With Diverse Teams And Stakeholders, Including Government Agencies, Volunteers, And Community Partners.
