
Disaster Program Manager

- Lead and manage disaster response efforts for the American Red Cross, including coordinating with other team members and external partners.
- Develop and implement disaster response plans and protocols in accordance with the organization's standards and guidelines.
- Monitor and assess potential disaster risks in the community, and proactively plan and prepare for potential emergencies.
- Recruit, train, and manage a team of disaster response volunteers, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Oversee the procurement, distribution, and inventory management of disaster relief supplies and equipment.
- Collaborate with local government agencies, community organizations, and other stakeholders to ensure effective and coordinated disaster response efforts.
- Conduct needs assessments and provide assistance to individuals and families affected by disasters, including coordinating temporary shelter, food, and other basic necessities.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of all disaster response activities, including financial transactions and volunteer hours.
- Develop and maintain relationships with donors and sponsors to secure funding and resources for disaster relief efforts.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest disaster response techniques and technologies, and implement best practices in disaster management.
- Communicate regularly with the public and media about disaster response efforts and provide education on disaster preparedness and response.
- Uphold the mission and values of the American Red Cross and represent the organization in a professional and compassionate manner at all times.
Bachelor's Degree In Emergency Management, Public Administration, Or A Related Field.
Knowledge Of Federal, State, And Local Emergency Management Policies And Procedures.
Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience In Disaster Response And/Or Management.
Strong Leadership Skills And Ability To Manage And Coordinate Teams In High-Stress Situations.
Excellent Communication And Problem-Solving Skills, With The Ability To Work Effectively With Diverse Groups And Stakeholders.
