- Develop and implement disaster response plans and strategies in collaboration with the American Red Cross team, local authorities, and other organizations.
- Ensure that all disaster response efforts align with the American Red Cross mission and values.
- Manage and lead a team of volunteers and staff, providing direction, support, and guidance during disaster response operations.
- Coordinate with local authorities, community leaders, and other organizations to identify needs and resources for effective disaster response.
- Oversee the training and development of volunteers and staff to ensure they are prepared for disaster response efforts.
- Maintain accurate records of all disaster response activities, including volunteer and staff hours, resources used, and outcomes.
- Monitor and assess disaster response efforts, making adjustments as needed to ensure the most effective and efficient use of resources.
- Collaborate with other American Red Cross departments to ensure a coordinated and comprehensive disaster response.
- Represent the American Red Cross in meetings and communication with local government agencies, community organizations, and other partners.
- Stay up-to-date on best practices and trends in disaster management, and incorporate them into disaster response plans and strategies.
- Stay informed about current and potential disaster situations, and provide timely updates and recommendations to the American Red Cross team.
- Uphold the values and standards of the American Red Cross in all interactions and activities.
- Communicate with and provide support to affected individuals and communities during disaster response efforts.
- Serve as a resource and point of contact for volunteers, staff, and community members seeking information about disaster response efforts.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and policies related to disaster response operations.
Bachelor's Degree In Emergency Management, Public Administration, Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience In Disaster Response And Management.
Knowledge Of Federal And State Emergency Management Laws, Regulations, And Protocols.
Strong Leadership And Project Management Skills, With The Ability To Coordinate And Lead Teams In High-Stress Situations.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Collaborate And Build Relationships With External Stakeholders, Such As Government Agencies And Community Organizations.
