
Disaster Program Manager

- Lead and oversee disaster response efforts for the American Red Cross, ensuring that our organization is able to effectively and efficiently assist communities in times of crisis.
- Coordinate disaster preparedness, response, and recovery efforts at both the local and regional levels.
- Work closely with community leaders, volunteers, and other organizations to plan and implement disaster relief operations.
- Provide support and resources to those affected by disasters, including coordinating shelter, food, and medical assistance.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and partners to ensure efficient and effective disaster response.
- Develop and implement disaster response plans and protocols, staying up to date on industry best practices.
- Remain calm and organized in high-stress situations, providing guidance and support to team members and volunteers.
- Monitor and assess disaster situations, providing timely updates and recommendations for action.
- Train and manage a team of disaster response volunteers, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to assist in relief efforts.
- Collaborate with other departments within the American Red Cross to ensure a coordinated and comprehensive disaster response.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of all disaster response activities.
- Represent the American Red Cross in meetings and events related to disaster management.
- Stay informed of current disaster trends and work to continuously improve and evolve disaster response strategies.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and ensure the safety of all team members and volunteers during disaster response operations.
- Uphold the values and mission of the American Red Cross in all interactions and activities.
Bachelor's Degree In Emergency Management, Public Health, Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 3-5 Years Experience In Disaster Response And Management.
Knowledge Of Federal Emergency Management Agency (Fema) Regulations And Guidelines.
Strong Leadership And Communication Skills To Effectively Coordinate With Volunteers, Staff, And Community Partners.
Ability To Work In High-Stress And Fast-Paced Environments, With Excellent Organizational And Problem-Solving Skills.
