- Lead and coordinate disaster preparedness, response, and recovery efforts in a specific geographic region.
- Develop and maintain relationships with local government agencies, community organizations, and other stakeholders to strengthen disaster response capabilities.
- Develop and implement disaster preparedness plans and training programs for volunteers and staff.
- Manage and direct a team of volunteers and staff to effectively respond to disasters and provide necessary support and resources to affected communities.
- Conduct assessments and evaluations of disaster response efforts to identify areas for improvement and implement changes as needed.
- Collaborate with other Disaster Program Managers and regional leadership to ensure consistency and best practices across multiple regions.
- Act as a spokesperson for the American Red Cross during disaster operations and represent the organization in media and community events.
- Monitor and manage budgets and resources allocated for disaster relief operations.
- Ensure compliance with all organizational policies, procedures, and protocols related to disaster response and management.
- Stay updated on the latest trends and best practices in disaster management and integrate them into program planning and implementation.
- Provide support and guidance to volunteers and staff during times of high stress and crisis.
- Foster a culture of inclusivity and diversity within the disaster response team, ensuring equal opportunities for all.
- Collaborate with other departments within the American Red Cross to ensure seamless integration of disaster response efforts with other programs and initiatives.
- Maintain accurate records and reports related to disaster response activities and outcomes.
- Act as an ambassador for the American Red Cross and promote its mission and values in all interactions with stakeholders and the community.
Bachelor's Degree In Emergency Management, Public Administration, Or A Related Field.
At Least 5 Years Of Experience In Disaster Response And Recovery Operations.
Strong Leadership And Communication Skills, With The Ability To Manage And Coordinate Diverse Teams.
Knowledge Of Federal, State, And Local Emergency Management Policies And Procedures.
Experience With Disaster Preparedness And Risk Management, Including Developing And Implementing Emergency Response Plans.
