
Community Disaster Program Manager

- Lead and manage the community disaster program, including coordinating and supervising disaster response efforts.
- Develop and maintain relationships with local community partners, government agencies, and other organizations to enhance disaster preparedness and response.
- Plan and implement disaster preparedness and response trainings for volunteers, staff, and community members.
- Oversee the recruitment, training, and retention of disaster response volunteers to effectively support disaster relief efforts.
- Develop and maintain a disaster response plan for the local area, ensuring all resources and protocols are in place and up-to-date.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams within the organization to ensure efficient and effective disaster response operations.
- Serve as a spokesperson for the organization during disaster events, communicating updates and information to the media and community members.
- Manage and monitor the budget for the community disaster program, ensuring resources are allocated appropriately.
- Provide support and guidance to individuals and families affected by disasters, including connecting them with necessary resources and services.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of disaster response efforts and make recommendations for improvement.
- Stay informed of current disaster management trends, best practices, and regulations to continuously improve the program.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to the organization's mission, values, and code of conduct.
- Uphold ethical standards and promote a positive and inclusive work environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the organization's leadership team.
Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Emergency Management, Public Health, Public Administration Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience In Disaster Management, Including Experience In Managing Disaster Response And Recovery Programs.
Knowledge And Understanding Of Emergency Management Principles, Procedures, And Practices.
Demonstrated Experience In Coordinating And Collaborating With Government Agencies, Community Organizations, And Volunteers To Facilitate Effective Disaster Response And Recovery Efforts.
Strong Leadership, Communication, And Organizational Skills, With The Ability To Manage And Motivate Teams In High-Stress And Dynamic Environments.
