- Receive, inspect, and store blood products in accordance with standard operating procedures and safety protocols
- Monitor inventory levels and track expiration dates of blood products to ensure adequate supply and prevent waste
- Prepare and package blood products for distribution to hospitals and other medical facilities
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of all blood products, including lot numbers and locations
- Follow strict safety procedures when handling and transporting blood products to prevent contamination or spoilage
- Collaborate with other team members to coordinate the timely delivery of blood products to meet the needs of patients and hospitals
- Assist with quality control and testing of blood products to ensure they meet regulatory standards
- Train and mentor new technicians on proper handling, storage, and distribution procedures for blood products
- Communicate effectively with healthcare professionals and patients to provide information and support regarding blood product availability and usage
- Actively participate in department meetings and training sessions to stay updated on industry developments and best practices.
Knowledge Of Blood Product Storage And Distribution Procedures: A Qualified Candidate For This Position Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of The Proper Techniques For Storing And Distributing Blood Products, Including Temperature Control And Inventory Management.
Experience With Medical Terminology And Equipment: Blood Product Storage And Distribution Technicians Must Be Familiar With Medical Terminology And Equipment Used In The Processing And Storage Of Blood Products. Experience Working In A Healthcare Or Laboratory Setting Is Preferred.
Attention To Detail And Accuracy: This Role Requires A High Level Of Attention To Detail And Accuracy To Ensure That Blood Products Are Properly Labeled, Tracked, And Stored According To Established Protocols.
