
Blood Product Storage and Distribution Technician

- Safely store and maintain inventory of blood products, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and organizational standards.
- Prepare and package blood products for distribution to hospitals and medical facilities.
- Monitor and track inventory levels to ensure an adequate supply of blood products for patient needs.
- Collaborate with other team members to coordinate and prioritize distribution of blood products.
- Maintain accurate records of all blood products in storage and distribution, including tracking expiration dates and lot numbers.
- Follow strict protocols and procedures for handling and transporting blood products to ensure safety and quality.
- Perform routine quality control checks and report any discrepancies or issues to superiors.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, following all safety protocols.
- Provide excellent customer service to hospital and medical facility staff when delivering blood products.
- Continuously assess and improve processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness in blood product storage and distribution.
- Attend trainings and stay up-to-date on industry standards and best practices for blood product storage and distribution.
- Adhere to all confidentiality and privacy policies when handling sensitive medical information.
- Collaborate with other departments and teams within the organization to support blood donation drives and events.
- Promote and represent the mission and values of the American Red Cross in all interactions with stakeholders.
- Participate in emergency response efforts as needed to support disaster relief efforts.
High School Diploma Or Equivalent Education
Certified Medical Assistant (Cma) Or Certified Nursing Assistant (Cna) Certification Preferred
Experience In Medical Product Storage And Distribution, Preferably In A Blood Bank Setting
Ability To Lift Up To 50 Pounds And Stand For Extended Periods Of Time
Strong Attention To Detail And Ability To Follow Strict Protocols And Procedures For Handling Blood Products.
