Welcome to the American Red Cross team! We are currently seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals to join us as Blood Collection Staff – Customer Service.   1. Provide exceptional customer service to blood donors, making them feel welcomed and appreciated throughout the donation process.
  2. Assist with registration and check-in of donors, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  3. Answer questions and address concerns from donors, providing information about the donation process and the American Red Cross.
  4. Monitor donor flow and maintain a clean and organized donation area.
  5. Administer basic health screenings and perform vital sign checks on donors.
  6. Handle sensitive or difficult situations with professionalism and empathy.
  7. Maintain strict confidentiality of donor information and follow all HIPAA regulations.
  8. Follow safety procedures and protocols to ensure a safe and hygienic donation environment.
  9. Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure smooth operation of the donation process.
  10. Keep accurate records of donor information and update donor records in the Red Cross database.
  11. Attend training and meetings to stay up-to-date on Red Cross policies and procedures.
  12. Demonstrate a strong commitment to the mission and values of the American Red Cross.
  13. Act as an ambassador for the American Red Cross, promoting the organization's mission and services to donors and the community.
  14. Perform other duties as assigned by the Blood Collection Supervisor.

  • Knowledge Of Blood Collection Procedures And Regulations: A Qualified Blood Collection Staff Must Have A Thorough Understanding Of Blood Collection Procedures And Fda Regulations To Ensure The Safety And Accuracy Of Blood Donations.

  • Excellent Interpersonal And Communication Skills: This Role Requires Interacting With Donors, Staff, And Volunteers On A Daily Basis. A Successful Candidate Must Have Strong Communication Skills To Provide Exceptional Customer Service And Address Any Concerns Or Questions Effectively.

  • Attention To Detail And Accuracy: Blood Collection Involves Handling Sensitive Information And Samples, So Attention To Detail And Accuracy Are Essential To Maintain The Integrity Of The Donations And Ensure Donor Safety.

  • Ability To Work In A High-Stress Environment: Working In A Blood Collection Facility Can Be Fast-Paced And High-Stress, Especially During Emergencies Or Disasters. A Qualified Candidate Must Be Able To Remain Calm And Focused Under Pressure To Provide Efficient And Effective Service.

  • Compassion And Empathy: Blood Donation Is A Selfless Act, And Donors May Be Nervous Or Anxious. A Blood Collection Staff Must Be Compassionate And Empathetic To Make Donors Feel Comfortable And Appreciated During The Donation Process.
