- Collect blood donations from donors in a safe and efficient manner.
- Perform thorough health screenings and review donor eligibility to ensure the safety of both donors and recipients.
- Maintain accurate records of donor information, including blood type, donation history, and contact information.
- Follow proper procedures for handling and storing blood products to maintain their integrity and safety.
- Provide exceptional customer service to donors, making them feel welcome and appreciated for their contribution.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a clean and sterile environment.
- Assist with setting up and breaking down donation equipment and supplies.
- Communicate effectively with other team members to ensure smooth and efficient blood collection processes.
- Attend training and educational sessions to stay updated on best practices and procedures.
- Demonstrate empathy and compassion towards donors and their unique situations.
- Serve as an ambassador for the American Red Cross, promoting our mission and values to the community.
- Collaborate with other departments to coordinate blood drives and ensure an adequate supply of blood products.
- Maintain confidentiality of donor information and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
- Handle any donor concerns or reactions with professionalism and follow proper protocol.
- Continuously monitor and improve processes to increase efficiency and donor satisfaction.
Completion Of A Phlebotomy Training Program And Certification From A Recognized Organization, Such As The National Healthcareer Association (Nha) Or American Society For Clinical Pathology (Ascp).
Strong Knowledge Of Medical Terminology, Anatomy, And Physiology To Accurately Identify And Label Blood Samples, As Well As Communicate Effectively With Medical Professionals.
Ability To Follow Strict Safety Protocols And Maintain A Clean And Sterile Work Environment To Prevent Contamination And Infection.
Excellent Customer Service Skills And The Ability To Work Effectively With Diverse Populations, Including Donors From Various Backgrounds And Medical Professionals.
Physical Ability To Stand For Long Periods Of Time, Maneuver Equipment And Supplies, And Lift Up To 50 Pounds, As Well As Flexibility To Work Varying Shifts And Weekends As Needed.
