- Identify and assess operational risks across all global business lines of American Express.
- Develop and implement risk management strategies to mitigate potential operational risks.
- Conduct regular risk assessments to identify emerging risks and make recommendations for mitigation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure operational risks are identified and managed effectively.
- Monitor and report on key risk indicators, trends, and emerging risks to senior management.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to promote a culture of risk awareness and management.
- Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and regulatory requirements related to operational risk management.
- Work closely with compliance and audit teams to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Train and mentor team members on operational risk management policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Prepare and present reports and updates on operational risk management to senior leadership.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and risk mitigation strategies.
- Stay informed about industry trends and emerging risks to proactively identify potential areas of concern.
- Lead and participate in projects related to operational risk management.
- Develop and maintain effective risk management policies, procedures, and controls.
- Foster a culture of risk awareness and management throughout the organization.
Experience In Risk Management: A Manager - Operational Risk At American Express Should Have A Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Risk Management, Preferably In The Financial Sector. This Experience Should Include Identifying, Assessing, And Mitigating Operational Risks.
Knowledge Of Regulatory Requirements: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Regulatory Requirements Related To Operational Risk, Such As Basel Iii, Sarbanes-Oxley Act, And Other Relevant Laws And Regulations.
Strong Analytical Skills: As A Manager - Operational Risk, One Must Possess Strong Analytical Skills To Identify And Evaluate Potential Risks And Their Impact On Business Operations. This Includes The Ability To Analyze Data, Identify Trends, And Make Data-Driven Decisions.
Leadership And Team Management Skills: A Manager - Operational Risk Should Have Experience In Leading And Managing A Team Of Risk Professionals. This Includes Setting Goals And Expectations, Providing Feedback, And Fostering A Collaborative And Inclusive Team Culture.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: Effective Communication Is Crucial In This Role As The Manager - Operational Risk Will Be Required To Liaise With Various Stakeholders, Including Senior Management, Cross-Functional Teams, And External Partners. The Ability To Communicate Complex Information Clearly And Build Strong Relationships Is Essential.
