
Manager - Accounting
We are looking for an experienced, hands-on Manager of Accounting to join the team at American Express. This role offers the opportunity to work with a team of highly talented and motivated professionals in a fast-paced environment. The Manager of Accounting will be responsible for managing and overseeing the accounting and finance activities of the organization. This position will have direct oversight over the accounting staff and will ensure that the organization’s accounting practices are in accordance with accepted standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and finance, excellent problem-solving skills, and have the ability to work independently and as part of a team.Qualifications:• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance• 5+ years of experience in accounting and finance roles• CPA or CMA certification preferred• Proven experience in managing and leading a team• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment• Strong organizational and communication skills
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all accounting and finance activities for American Express, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of financials.
- Manage and lead a team of accounting and finance professionals.
- Ensure accounting practices are in accordance with accepted standards.
- Implement and maintain internal control systems.
- Prepare and review financial statements and other reports.
- Analyze financial and operational performance and provide timely recommendations for improvement.
- Monitor budget and expense performance and provide guidance to departments to ensure compliance.
- Develop and implement financial policies and procedures.
- Facilitate external audits and ensure compliance with all applicable regulations.
- Serve as a liaison with external parties, including banks, auditors, and other third-parties.
Bachelor's Degree In Accounting Or Finance
Minimum Of Years Of Accounting Management Experience
Certified Public Accountant (Cpa) Or Certified Management Accountant (Cma) Designation
Proven Ability To Develop And Execute Complex Accounting Strategies
Strong Understanding Of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (Gaap)
Excellent Verbal And Written Communication Skills
