
Manager - Accounting
We at American Express are looking for a motivated Manager - Accounting to join our team. This role is critical in helping us to ensure our financial records are accurate and up to date. The ideal candidate for this position will have a strong background in accounting, finance, or a related field, and will possess a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Qualifications:• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field• 5+ years of accounting experience• Advanced knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)• Excellent written and verbal communication skills• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software• Ability to work independently and as part of a team• Highly organized and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Responsibilities:
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial records.
- Develop and maintain an effective system of accounting records and internal controls.
- Prepare financial reports and statements for internal and external stakeholders.
- Monitor cash flow and cash management activities.
- Lead the annual audit process and ensure compliance with GAAP.
- Perform reconciliations of accounts and investigate discrepancies.
- Act as a leader in the organization, managing and mentoring team members.
- Provide advice and guidance on accounting matters to other departments.
- Evaluate and recommend improvements to existing accounting processes.
- Remain up to date on changes in accounting standards and regulations.
