Job Description

At American Axle & Manufacturing - AAM, we are looking for a Manager - Project Engineering who is a motivated, customer-focused leader with excellent organizational and problem-solving skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of Project Engineers and providing superior engineering solutions for our customers.The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing or a related engineering field, as well as 5+ years of experience in the automotive industry. We are looking for a professional with strong teamwork and communication skills, as well as a track record of successful project completion. The Manager - Project Engineering must be comfortable leading complex projects, managing resources, and developing innovative solutions to customer needs. If you have the necessary skills, experience and enthusiasm to take on this exciting position, we would love to hear from you!

Responsibilities:

  1. Lead a team of Project Engineers and provide superior engineering solutions for customers.
  2. Collaborate with multiple teams, including engineering, operations, sales, and marketing to ensure timely and successful completion of projects.
  3. Develop innovative solutions to customer needs and manage resources to achieve project goals.
  4. Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
  5. Analyze and evaluate customer requirements and technical specifications to identify potential issues.
  6. Establish project timelines and budgets.
  7. Resolve project issues and conflicts in a timely and effective manner.
  8. Create and maintain project documentation, such as reports, presentations, and technical specifications.
  9. Continuously upgrade technical knowledge and skills to keep abreast of industry trends and developments.
  10. Maintain a safe and secure work environment.
