In this role, you will be responsible for developing and managing the strategy, roadmap, and execution of indirect tax calculation solutions that support Amazon's growing business.   1. Develop and manage the strategy and roadmap for indirect tax calculation solutions for Amazon's global operations.
  2. Ensure compliance with all tax laws and regulations in all relevant jurisdictions.
  3. Oversee the execution of indirect tax calculation solutions, including coordinating with cross-functional teams and external partners.
  4. Analyze and interpret complex tax laws and regulations to identify potential risks and opportunities for efficiency and optimization.
  5. Collaborate with internal stakeholders such as finance, legal, and operations to ensure alignment and integration of tax solutions.
  6. Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations and proactively adjust strategies and solutions as needed.
  7. Lead and mentor a team of tax professionals to drive results and optimize processes.
  8. Develop and maintain strong relationships with external tax authorities and partners.
  9. Monitor and analyze tax data and trends to identify areas for improvement and cost savings.
  10. Prepare and present reports and updates to senior management on tax compliance and performance.
  11. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy of tax calculations.
  12. Continuously monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of tax systems and processes, recommending and implementing changes as needed.
  13. Communicate and work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth implementation of tax solutions.
  14. Act as a subject matter expert on indirect tax calculation for internal and external stakeholders.
  15. Maintain a high level of customer obsession, ensuring that tax solutions meet the needs and expectations of Amazon's customers.

Job Qualifications
  • Strong Understanding Of Indirect Tax Laws And Regulations: A Product Manager For Indirect Tax Calculation At Amazon Should Possess A Deep Understanding Of The Complex And Ever-Changing World Of Indirect Taxes, Including Sales And Use Tax, Value-Added Tax, And Goods And Services Tax.

  • Experience With Tax Technology And Software: This Role Requires Experience With Tax Automation And Technology Solutions, Including Tax Software And Erps. A Product Manager Should Be Able To Navigate And Optimize These Systems To Ensure Accurate And Efficient Indirect Tax Calculations.

  • Data Analysis And Problem-Solving Skills: As A Product Manager, One Must Be Able To Analyze Large Sets Of Data, Identify Potential Issues, And Develop Solutions To Address Them. This Requires Strong Problem-Solving Skills And The Ability To Think Critically And Creatively.

  • Project Management Experience: This Role Involves Managing Complex Projects And Working With Cross-Functional Teams To Ensure Successful Delivery Of Tax Automation Solutions. A Product Manager Should Have Experience In Project Management And Be Able To Oversee Multiple Projects Simultaneously.

  • Excellent Communication And Stakeholder Management Skills: As A Product Manager, One Will Be Working With Various Stakeholders, Including Tax Teams, Business Partners, And External Vendors. Strong Communication And Stakeholder Management Skills Are Crucial To Ensure Alignment And Collaboration Towards Achieving Business Goals.
