Industrial Designer, Amazon Incubator
This Industrial Design position will help design innovative and fully functional systems in a highly novel domain. This will involve designing and fabricating a series of prototypes, from bench, proof-of-concept models to more locked-down versions that focus on compiling findings down to eventual product. Help support product definition, execution and testing. Design, document, and produce components and subsystems for prototypes and products. Define test methodology and test coverage to assure reliability of prototypes and emerging product. Be hands-on to bring online new product, conduct verification testing and performance validation. Mentor and coach new engineers and interns.
5+ years experience in development and/or integration of hardware solutions in pursuit of productization
5+ years experience in deployment of hardware and tooling in an R&D lab environment
Deep understanding of physical systems – tools, materials, fabrication techniques, etc.
Hands-on skills with hand tools, electronics assembly, test equipment, etc.
