- Conduct regular security assessments of our AWS applications to identify potential vulnerabilities and recommend improvements.
- Develop and implement proactive security measures to protect our AWS applications from potential threats.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure security best practices are integrated into the development process.
- Collaborate with other security engineers to design and implement security solutions for our AWS applications.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest security trends and technologies to continuously improve our security posture.
- Conduct penetration testing and vulnerability scans to identify potential security risks.
- Monitor and analyze security logs and alerts to identify and respond to potential security incidents.
- Communicate security risks and recommendations to stakeholders to ensure a proactive approach to security.
- Create and maintain documentation on security policies, procedures, and standards.
- Participate in incident response and post-incident analysis to identify areas for improvement.
- Train and educate other team members on security best practices.
- Continuously review and improve security processes and procedures.
- Stay informed about regulatory compliance requirements and ensure our AWS applications are in compliance.
- Collaborate with external security vendors and auditors as needed.
- Act as a subject matter expert on application security for the company and provide guidance and support to other teams as needed.
Strong Knowledge Of Aws Security Best Practices: An Application Security Engineer At Amazon Must Have A Deep Understanding Of Aws Security Principles And Best Practices. This Includes Knowledge Of Identity And Access Management, Network Security, Data Encryption, And Other Relevant Topics.
Experience With Developing And Implementing Security Controls: This Role Requires Hands-On Experience In Developing And Implementing Security Controls For Applications Running On Aws. The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Strong Background In Security Engineering And Be Able To Design And Implement Secure Solutions For Complex Applications.
Familiarity With Application Security Tools And Techniques: An Application Security Engineer At Amazon Should Have Experience With A Variety Of Application Security Tools And Techniques, Such As Code Analysis, Penetration Testing, And Vulnerability Management. They Should Also Be Familiar With Security Frameworks And Standards, Such As Owasp Top 10 And Pci Dss.
Strong Communication And Collaboration Skills: As An Application Security Engineer, The Ability To Communicate Complex Security Concepts To Technical And Non-Technical Stakeholders Is Crucial. They Should Also Be Able To Collaborate Effectively With Other Teams, Such As Developers And Operations, To Ensure Security Is Integrated Into The Development Process.
Relevant Certifications And Education: A Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Computer Science, Information Security, Or A Related Field Is Typically Required For This Role. In Addition, Certifications Such As Aws Certified Security - Specialty Or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (Cissp) Are Highly Valued By Amazon For This Position.
