Job Description

Perform research and respond to subpoenas regarding Ally Bank deposit customers. Review and respond to monetary judgments such as child support and garnishment orders. Review and approve power of attorney, guardianship, conservatorship and rep payee documents submitted for Ally Bank deposit accounts. Perform research and assist counsel with defensive litigation matters pertaining to deposit account customers. Review daily exceptions against restricted accounts to determine approval or denial in order to remediate risk to the bank versus granting customer access to funds. Assist as needed with dual control and/or monthly employee reviews. Manage the daily mail triage and service of process for the company by filtering matters throughout the different business areas. Manage the legal fee reimbursement and recovery job function. Complete research needed to resolve all bank inquiries.

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4 years in retail banking or equivalent law firm experience

  • Paralegal Certificate strongly preferred but will accept equivalent in experience

  • Understanding of legal documents and concepts required

  • Ability to work independently, multi-task and effectively process diverse workloads concurrently
