Job Description

At Allstate, we are looking for a creative and forward-thinking Geospatial Data Scientist to join our team and help us bring geospatial insights to the forefront of our data-driven decision making. This individual will have a strong knowledge of spatial analysis, geospatial data science, and analytics, and a passion for uncovering insights from data. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science, geography, or a related field, as well as experience with geospatial software and analytics tools. They should have exceptional problem-solving skills, strong communication and organization abilities, and a keen eye for detail. Furthermore, they should bring a collaborative and creative mindset to the table, and apply an inquisitive attitude when working with data. Responsibilities:

  1. Perform geospatial analysis, data science, and analytics to uncover insights from data.
  2. Utilize geospatial software and analytics tools to develop data-driven solutions.
  3. Develop and maintain innovative data products.
  4. Collaborate with colleagues to identify and develop new approaches to data analysis.
  5. Monitor existing data solutions for accuracy and completeness.
  6. Design and implement data models for data-driven decision making.
  7. Develop and implement strategies for data acquisition, management, and storage.
  8. Provide technical support for geospatial data science initiatives.
  9. Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure successful data products.
  10. Keep up to date with industry trends and best practices for geospatial data science.
