- Plan and implement therapeutic recreation programs and activities for patients of all ages and abilities.
- Assess patient needs and develop individualized treatment plans to address their physical, emotional, and social well-being.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to incorporate therapeutic recreation into overall patient care plans.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Educate patients and their families on the benefits of therapeutic recreation and promote participation in activities.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of patient progress and treatment plans.
- Ensure a safe and supportive environment for patients during recreation activities.
- Stay current with industry trends and research to incorporate new techniques and interventions into therapeutic recreation programs.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members to promote a positive and collaborative approach to patient care.
- Adhere to ethical and professional standards in all interactions with patients and colleagues.
- Attend relevant meetings and training sessions to enhance knowledge and skills in therapeutic recreation.
- Collaborate with community organizations and resources to provide additional recreational opportunities for patients.
- Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols to ensure the well-being of patients and colleagues.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Represent Allina Health System and the Therapeutic Recreation department in a professional and positive manner at all times.
Bachelor's Degree In Therapeutic Recreation Or A Related Field: A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In Therapeutic Recreation Or A Related Field Is Typically Required For A Therapeutic Recreation Specialist Position At Allina Health System. This Ensures That The Candidate Has A Strong Foundation In The Principles And Techniques Of Therapeutic Recreation.
Certification As A Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (Ctrs): Candidates For A Therapeutic Recreation Specialist Position At Allina Health System Are Typically Required To Hold Certification As A Ctrs Through The National Council For Therapeutic Recreation Certification (Nctrc). This Certification Demonstrates That The Candidate Has Met The Professional Standards For Therapeutic Recreation Practice.
