We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate individual with a Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation or related field, along with previous experience working with individuals with physical, cognitive, and emotional challenges.   1. Develop and implement therapeutic recreation programs for patients with a variety of physical, cognitive, and emotional challenges.
  2. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to create individualized treatment plans for patients.
  3. Conduct assessments and evaluations to determine patients' needs and progress.
  4. Plan and facilitate recreational activities that promote physical, emotional, and social well-being.
  5. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient progress and treatment plans.
  6. Educate patients and their families on the benefits of therapeutic recreation and how it can improve overall well-being.
  7. Ensure safety protocols are followed during all recreational activities.
  8. Stay current with industry trends and research to continually improve therapeutic recreation programs.
  9. Develop and maintain relationships with community organizations to provide additional resources and support for patients.
  10. Advocate for the importance of therapeutic recreation within the healthcare system.
  11. Provide emotional support and guidance to patients and their families during difficult times.
  12. Collaborate with other Therapeutic Recreation Specialists to share best practices and support each other in professional development.
  13. Adhere to all ethical and legal standards in therapeutic recreation practices.
  14. Foster a positive and inclusive environment for patients and staff.
  15. Uphold the mission, values, and goals of Allina Health System.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Therapeutic Recreation Or A Related Field

  • Certification As A Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (Ctrs)

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working In Therapeutic Recreation, Preferably In A Healthcare Setting

  • Knowledge Of Evidence-Based Therapeutic Recreation Interventions And Techniques

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Effectively With Diverse Populations And Interdisciplinary Teams.
