- Assist in the coordination and management of specialty pharmacy services for patients.
- Prepare and dispense medications according to established protocols and procedures.
- Accurately enter and maintain patient and prescription information in the pharmacy system.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure appropriate medication therapy for patients.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients and healthcare professionals.
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels and order medications as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal pharmacy regulations.
- Participate in quality assurance activities and assist in identifying areas for improvement.
- Educate patients on proper medication use and potential side effects.
- Communicate with insurance companies to obtain prior authorizations and resolve medication coverage issues.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Keep up-to-date with new developments in the specialty pharmacy industry.
- Participate in training and mentoring of new pharmacy technicians.
- Adhere to all safety and security protocols.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
- Assist with billing and insurance claims processing.
- Handle medication recalls and communicate information to appropriate parties.
- Collaborate with other healthcare team members to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Attend department meetings and actively contribute ideas for process improvement.
- Continuously strive to provide exceptional patient care and promote a positive image of the organization.
Certified Pharmacy Technician (Cpht) License
Experience In A Specialty Pharmacy Setting (E.g. Oncology, Hiv/Aids, Transplant)
Knowledge Of Specialty Drugs And Their Unique Handling And Storage Requirements
Strong Understanding Of Insurance Billing And Reimbursement Processes For Specialty Medications
Excellent Communication And Customer Service Skills, With The Ability To Provide Patient Education And Support For Complex Medication Regimens.
