- Provide nursing care to expectant mothers and newborns, including monitoring vital signs, administering medication, and assisting with labor and delivery.
- Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and other healthcare professionals to create individualized birth plans and ensure the safety and well-being of mother and baby.
- Educate and support expectant mothers and their families throughout the pregnancy, labor, and postpartum periods.
- Keep accurate and detailed records of patient care, including birth outcomes and postpartum recovery.
- Respond quickly and effectively to emergency situations, such as complications during labor or emergency deliveries.
- Provide emotional support and guidance to expectant mothers and their families, including addressing any concerns or fears they may have.
- Participate in ongoing training and education to stay updated on current trends and practices in women's health and childbirth.
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations.
- Serve as an advocate for patients and their families, ensuring their voices and preferences are heard and respected.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients and their families, following infection control protocols and proper sanitation procedures.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and ensure a seamless transition from birth center to postpartum care.
- Continuously monitor and assess patient progress and make adjustments to care plans as needed.
- Effectively communicate with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure a positive and supportive experience.
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards in all interactions with patients and their families.
- Act as a role model for patient-centered care and promote a culture of compassion and excellence within the birth center.
Current Rn Licensure In The State Of Minnesota.
Bachelor Of Science In Nursing (Bsn) Degree From An Accredited Institution.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Labor And Delivery Or Maternal/Newborn Nursing.
Bls And Nrp Certifications.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Collaborate With A Multidisciplinary Healthcare Team.
