- Conduct radiation physics evaluations and provide recommendations for treatment planning to ensure accuracy and safety of radiation therapy treatments.
- Collaborate with radiation oncologists, dosimetrists, and therapists to develop and implement treatment plans for patients.
- Perform quality assurance checks on equipment and treatment plans to ensure proper functioning and accurate delivery of radiation therapy.
- Monitor patient response to treatment and make necessary adjustments to treatment plans as needed.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of radiation therapy treatments and patient progress.
- Stay up-to-date on advancements and changes in radiation therapy technology and techniques.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to provide education and address any concerns related to radiation therapy.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to minimize risks and ensure the well-being of patients and staff.
- Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the development and improvement of radiation therapy protocols and procedures.
- Serve as a resource and mentor to other members of the healthcare team regarding radiation physics and safety.
Advanced Degree In Medical Physics Or Related Field, Such As A Master's Or Doctorate In Radiological Physics.
Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience In Radiation Physics, Preferably In A Healthcare Setting.
Certification By The American Board Of Radiology (Abr) In Medical Physics.
Knowledge Of Radiation Safety Regulations And Guidelines, Including Experience With Radiation Safety Audits And Inspections.
Excellent Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills, With The Ability To Interpret And Analyze Complex Data Related To Radiation Exposure And Safety.
