
Polysomnographic Technologist

- Conduct and analyze sleep studies to diagnose and treat sleep disorders for patients.
- Perform various polysomnography procedures, including overnight sleep studies, multiple sleep latency tests, and maintenance of wakefulness tests.
- Monitor and record patient sleep patterns, brain waves, heart rate, and other physiological indicators during sleep studies.
- Ensure accurate and detailed documentation of all sleep study results.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop treatment plans for patients.
- Educate patients on sleep disorders and treatment options.
- Maintain and calibrate sleep study equipment to ensure accurate readings.
- Adhere to safety protocols and infection control measures during sleep studies.
- Stay updated on current research and advancements in the field of sleep medicine.
- Provide compassionate and patient-centered care to improve the overall health and well-being of patients.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
- Work collaboratively with other members of the healthcare team to provide comprehensive care for patients.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the sleep study process and patient outcomes.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Attend continuing education and training opportunities to stay current in the field.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Interact With Patients, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Professionals.
Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (Rpsgt) Certification Through The Board Of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (Brpt).
Bachelor's Degree In A Related Field Such As Respiratory Care, Neurodiagnostics, Or Healthcare Administration.
Minimum Of 2 Years Experience In A Sleep Disorders Center Performing Polysomnography.
Strong Working Knowledge Of Polysomnography Equipment And Data Analysis Software.
