  1. Dispensing Medications: The Pharmacist-Inpatient and Infusion will be responsible for accurately dispensing medications to patients in the inpatient and infusion services of the Allina Health System.
  2. Medication Management: This role will involve managing and monitoring patient medication regimens to ensure safe and effective use, including conducting medication reconciliation and drug utilization reviews.
  3. Collaborate with Healthcare Team: The Pharmacist-Inpatient and Infusion will work closely with other healthcare professionals, such as physicians and nurses, to provide comprehensive care to patients. This may involve attending rounds and providing medication expertise and recommendations.
  4. Patient Education: The role will involve educating patients and their families about their medication regimens, including dosing instructions, potential side effects, and drug interactions.
  5. Drug Information Services: The Pharmacist-Inpatient and Infusion will be responsible for staying up-to-date on the latest drug information and providing this knowledge to healthcare professionals and patients as needed.
  6. Quality Assurance: This role will involve ensuring compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and policies related to medication use and storage. The Pharmacist-Inpatient and Infusion will also be responsible for reporting any medication errors or adverse drug events.
  7. Inventory Management: This role will involve managing and ordering medication inventory for the inpatient and infusion services, ensuring adequate supply and minimizing waste.
  8. Documentation: The Pharmacist-Inpatient and Infusion will be responsible for accurately documenting all medication-related activities and patient interactions in the electronic medical record.
  9. Continuing Education: The role will involve staying current with developments in pharmacy practice and participating in ongoing education and training to maintain licensure and enhance skills.
  10. Patient Advocacy: The Pharmacist-Inpatient and Infusion will serve as an advocate for patients, ensuring their medication needs are met and addressing any concerns or questions they may have.

Job Qualifications
  • Doctor Of Pharmacy (Pharmd) Degree From An Accredited School Of Pharmacy

  • Active Pharmacist License In The State Of Minnesota

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In An Inpatient Or Infusion Pharmacy Setting

  • Knowledge Of Sterile Compounding And Aseptic Technique

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Collaborate With Healthcare Team And Patients
