As an Ophthalmic Assistant, you will play a vital role in assisting ophthalmologists and optometrists in providing high-quality eye care services to our patients.   1. Assist ophthalmologists and optometrists in providing eye care services to patients.
  2. Perform preliminary eye exams and tests, including measuring visual acuity and intraocular pressure.
  3. Prepare and maintain examination and treatment rooms for patient visits.
  4. Sterilize and maintain ophthalmic instruments and equipment.
  5. Administer eye drops and medications as directed by healthcare providers.
  6. Educate patients on proper eye care techniques and follow-up instructions.
  7. Document patient information accurately and maintain electronic medical records.
  8. Schedule and coordinate appointments for patients.
  9. Communicate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
  10. Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols.
  11. Assist with minor surgical procedures.
  12. Keep inventory of supplies and order new supplies as needed.
  13. Participate in training and continuing education to stay updated on new techniques and procedures.
  14. Provide exceptional customer service and ensure patient satisfaction.
  15. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
  16. Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  17. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth workflow and efficient patient care.
  18. Maintain a positive and professional attitude at all times.
  19. Continuously seek opportunities for personal and professional growth.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent

  • Completion Of A Recognized Ophthalmic Assistant Training Program

  • Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (Coa) Or Certified Ophthalmic Technician (Cot) Certification Preferred

  • Minimum Of 1 Year Of Experience As An Ophthalmic Assistant In A Clinical Setting

  • Proficient In Medical Terminology, Electronic Medical Records, And Basic Computer Skills.
