- Assist ophthalmologists and optometrists in providing eye care services to patients.
- Perform preliminary eye exams and tests, including measuring visual acuity and intraocular pressure.
- Prepare and maintain examination and treatment rooms for patient visits.
- Sterilize and maintain ophthalmic instruments and equipment.
- Administer eye drops and medications as directed by healthcare providers.
- Educate patients on proper eye care techniques and follow-up instructions.
- Document patient information accurately and maintain electronic medical records.
- Schedule and coordinate appointments for patients.
- Communicate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
- Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols.
- Assist with minor surgical procedures.
- Keep inventory of supplies and order new supplies as needed.
- Participate in training and continuing education to stay updated on new techniques and procedures.
- Provide exceptional customer service and ensure patient satisfaction.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures.

High School Diploma Or Equivalent
Completion Of A Recognized Ophthalmic Assistant Training Program
Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (Coa) Or Certified Ophthalmic Technician (Cot) Certification Preferred
Minimum Of 1 Year Of Experience As An Ophthalmic Assistant In A Clinical Setting
Proficient In Medical Terminology, Electronic Medical Records, And Basic Computer Skills.
