
Music Therapist Inpatient Mental Health

- Develop and implement music therapy programs for patients in the inpatient mental health unit.
- Conduct assessments to determine individual patient needs and create personalized treatment plans.
- Utilize a variety of music therapy techniques to address mental health concerns and promote overall well-being.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to integrate music therapy into patient care plans.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient progress and treatment outcomes.
- Provide ongoing support and guidance to patients and their families, as well as educate them on the benefits of music therapy.
- Utilize a trauma-informed approach to provide a safe and supportive environment for patients.
- Stay informed on current research and best practices in the field of music therapy and apply them to patient care.
- Assist in planning and organizing group music therapy sessions and special events.
- Maintain a professional and ethical relationship with patients, colleagues, and the community.
- Attend and participate in team meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities.
- Adhere to all organizational policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Serve as an advocate for music therapy and promote its role in mental health treatment.
- Maintain a positive attitude and foster a supportive and inclusive work environment.
- Continuously evaluate and modify treatment plans based on patient progress and needs.
Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Music Therapy From An Accredited Program.
Board-Certified Music Therapist (Mt-Bc) Credential From The Certification Board For Music Therapists.
At Least 2 Years Of Experience Working In A Mental Health Setting, Preferably In An Inpatient Setting.
Knowledge And Understanding Of Mental Health Diagnoses And Treatment Modalities.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, As Well As The Ability To Work Collaboratively With A Multidisciplinary Treatment Team.
