- Develop and implement music therapy programs for patients of all ages and backgrounds, in accordance with their individual needs and treatment plans.
- Utilize various music therapy techniques, including active and receptive interventions, to address physical, emotional, cognitive, and social needs of patients.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to integrate music therapy into patient care plans and provide ongoing updates and progress reports.
- Assess and document patient progress and response to music therapy interventions, adjusting treatment as needed.
- Create a safe and supportive environment for patients to engage in music therapy activities, incorporating appropriate equipment and instruments.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers on the benefits of music therapy and provide resources for continued engagement in music-related activities.
- Maintain accurate and timely records of music therapy sessions, including documentation of patient goals, interventions, and outcomes.
- Stay up-to-date on current research and advancements in the field of music therapy, incorporating evidence-based practices into treatment plans.
- Adhere to ethical and professional standards as outlined by the American Music Therapy Association and Allina Health System.
- Foster a positive and welcoming atmosphere for patients, families, and colleagues, promoting a patient-centered and inclusive approach to care.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Collaborate With Patients, Families, And Healthcare Team Members.
Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Music Therapy From An Accredited Program.
Board Certification From The Certification Board For Music Therapists (Cbmt).
At Least 1-2 Years Of Experience Working As A Music Therapist In A Healthcare Setting.
Knowledge Of Various Music Therapy Techniques And Their Application In Clinical Settings.
