As a Medical Laboratory Scientist at Allina Health System, you will play a crucial role in our organization by performing a variety of laboratory tests and procedures to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.   1. Perform a variety of laboratory tests and procedures to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.
  2. Ensure accuracy and timeliness of test results by following established protocols and procedures.
  3. Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment to ensure proper functioning.
  4. Maintain accurate records and documentation of all tests performed.
  5. Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  6. Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to provide quality patient care.
  7. Continuously monitor and maintain inventory levels of laboratory supplies.
  8. Keep up-to-date with new developments and advancements in the field of medical laboratory science.
  9. Follow established quality control procedures to ensure accuracy and precision of test results.
  10. Train and mentor new laboratory staff as needed.
  11. Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  12. Adhere to ethical and legal standards in all aspects of job responsibilities.
  13. Provide exceptional customer service to patients and their families.
  14. Contribute to performance improvement initiatives and participate in departmental meetings.
  15. Comply with all organizational policies and procedures.
  16. Actively participate in continuing education and professional development activities.
  17. Represent Allina Health System in a positive and professional manner at all times.
  18. Demonstrate strong technical skills and attention to detail in all aspects of job responsibilities.
  19. Work independently as well as part of a team to meet departmental goals and objectives.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Medical Laboratory Science Or A Related Field

  • Ascp Certification As A Medical Laboratory Scientist

  • Minimum Of 2-3 Years Of Experience In A Clinical Laboratory Setting

  • Strong Knowledge And Skills In Performing Various Laboratory Tests And Procedures

  • Familiarity With Laboratory Information Systems And Ability To Troubleshoot Technical Issues.
