- Provide high-quality care and support to patients within a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Assist podiatrists with various procedures and treatments, including wound care, nail care, and foot exams.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including medical history, vital signs, and treatment plans.
- Educate patients on foot care and proper use of orthotics or other prescribed devices.
- Communicate effectively with patients, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care.
- Administer medications and injections as directed by the podiatrist.
- Prepare examination rooms and equipment for patient visits.
- Follow infection control protocols and maintain a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
- Keep up-to-date with current podiatry techniques, procedures, and protocols.
- Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to provide the best possible patient outcomes.
- Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and their families during procedures and treatments.
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
- Attend regular training and educational sessions to stay informed on new developments in the field of podiatry.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the podiatrist or medical director.
Completion Of A Medical Assistant Program From An Accredited Institution.
Familiarity With Electronic Medical Record Systems And Ability To Accurately Document Patient Information.
Certification As A Medical Assistant Through The American Association Of Medical Assistants (Aama).
Prior Experience In A Podiatry Setting, Including Knowledge Of Foot And Ankle Anatomy, Common Podiatric Conditions, And Specialized Equipment.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Provide Compassionate Care To Patients And Work Effectively With Healthcare Team Members.
