  1. Maintain cleanliness and organization of all linens and laundry items in the healthcare facility.
  2. Follow proper infection control procedures when handling and distributing linens.
  3. Ensure all linens are properly washed, folded, and stocked in designated areas.
  4. Monitor and maintain inventory levels of linens and notify management of any shortages or discrepancies.
  5. Collaborate with housekeeping and patient care staff to ensure timely delivery and pickup of linens.
  6. Report any stains, damages, or quality concerns to the appropriate department.
  7. Operate and maintain laundry equipment, following safety protocols and reporting any malfunctions.
  8. Assist with sorting, folding, and distributing clean linens to assigned areas.
  9. Adhere to established policies and procedures for handling soiled linens and maintaining a sanitary environment.
  10. Provide excellent customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by responding to requests and inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  11. Maintain a positive and respectful attitude towards all team members and patients.
  12. Attend training and educational programs as required to stay updated on industry best practices and procedures.
  13. Follow HIPAA guidelines and maintain confidentiality of patient information.
  14. Be accountable for the overall cleanliness and appearance of linens and laundry areas.
  15. Contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment by actively participating in team meetings and offering suggestions for improvement.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Linen Aide At Allina Health System Should Have A Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Equivalent To Ensure Basic Literacy And Numeracy Skills.

  • Previous Experience In A Healthcare Setting: Candidates Should Have Prior Experience Working In A Healthcare Setting, Preferably In A Linen Or Laundry Department. This Demonstrates An Understanding Of Infection Control Procedures And The Ability To Handle Linens In A Healthcare Environment.

  • Physical Stamina And Dexterity: The Job Of A Linen Aide Requires Physical Stamina And Dexterity To Lift And Move Heavy Loads Of Linens, Operate Laundry Equipment, And Stand For Long Periods Of Time.

  • Attention To Detail: Linen Aides Must Have A Keen Eye For Detail To Ensure That Linens Are Properly Sorted, Laundered, And Distributed To The Correct Departments Within The Healthcare Facility.

  • Teamwork And Communication Skills: As Part Of A Larger Healthcare Team, Linen Aides Must Be Able To Communicate Effectively With Colleagues And Work Well In A Team-Oriented Environment. This Includes The Ability To Take Direction, Collaborate On Tasks, And Communicate Any Issues Or Concerns To Supervisors.
