You will also have the opportunity to work closely with our diverse team of healthcare professionals and community partners to ensure the best possible care and services for our patients.To be successful in this role, you must have a high school diploma or equivalent, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.   1. Assist the Handiham Coordinator in planning, coordinating, and implementing programs and services for individuals with disabilities.
  2. Collaborate with healthcare professionals and community partners to ensure the best possible care and services for patients.
  3. Provide administrative support to the Handiham Coordinator, including scheduling appointments, managing paperwork, and maintaining records.
  4. Communicate with individuals with disabilities and their families to address their needs and concerns.
  5. Maintain a high level of confidentiality and sensitivity when working with sensitive information and individuals with disabilities.
  6. Assist in the development and maintenance of program materials and resources.
  7. Coordinate and facilitate meetings and events related to the Handiham program.
  8. Conduct research and gather information on resources and services available for individuals with disabilities.
  9. Assist with the recruitment and training of volunteers for the Handiham program.
  10. Monitor program progress and make recommendations for improvements.
  11. Ensure compliance with all policies, procedures, and regulations related to the Handiham program.
  12. Attend relevant training and professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills related to working with individuals with disabilities.
  13. Provide excellent customer service to all individuals involved in the Handiham program.
  14. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and documentation.
  15. Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures while working with individuals with disabilities.
  16. Represent the Handiham program and Allina Health System in a positive and professional manner at all times.

  • Knowledge Of Disability Services And Advocacy: The Handiham Coordinator Assistant Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Disability Services And Advocacy In Order To Effectively Support And Advocate For Participants With Disabilities.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: The Job Requires Strong Communication Skills To Effectively Interact With Participants, Families, And Healthcare Professionals. The Handiham Coordinator Assistant Should Also Have Excellent Interpersonal Skills To Build Relationships And Work Collaboratively With Team Members.

  • Experience Working With Individuals With Disabilities: Previous Experience Working With People With Disabilities Is Essential For This Role. This Could Include Experience As A Caregiver, Direct Support Professional, Or In A Similar Role.

  • Organizational And Administrative Skills: The Handiham Coordinator Assistant Will Be Responsible For Coordinating And Managing Various Aspects Of The Handiham Program. Therefore, Strong Organizational And Administrative Skills Are Necessary To Ensure The Program Runs Smoothly.

  • Understanding Of Healthcare Systems And Processes: The Handiham Coordinator Assistant Should Have A Basic Understanding Of Healthcare Systems And Processes To Effectively Navigate And Support Participants Within The Healthcare System. This Could Include Knowledge Of Insurance, Medical Terminology, And Processes For Scheduling Appointments And Obtaining Medical Equipment.
