  1. Greet and welcome patients to the clinic in a friendly and professional manner.
  2. Assist patients with scheduling appointments, checking in for appointments, and answering any questions they may have.
  3. Verify insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations for appointments and procedures.
  4. Collect and accurately enter patient information into the electronic medical record system.
  5. Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  6. Utilize excellent communication skills to effectively communicate with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies.
  7. Collaborate with other clinic staff to ensure a smooth and efficient patient flow.
  8. Handle incoming phone calls and address patient inquiries and concerns.
  9. Assist in resolving any insurance or billing issues that may arise.
  10. Maintain knowledge of clinic services, policies, and procedures to provide accurate information to patients.
  11. Keep accurate records of patient interactions and update patient files accordingly.
  12. Adhere to all safety and infection control policies and procedures.
  13. Attend trainings and meetings to stay current on changes in insurance and healthcare policies.
  14. Maintain a professional and positive attitude at all times.
  15. Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment for all patients and staff.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Education Requirement For A Clinic Patient Access Representative At Allina Health System Is A High School Diploma Or Equivalent. This Ensures That The Candidate Has A Basic Level Of Education And Communication Skills.

  • Experience In Healthcare Industry: Previous Experience In A Healthcare Setting, Such As A Hospital Or Clinic, Is Preferred For This Role. This Experience Can Include Working As A Medical Receptionist, Medical Assistant, Or In A Customer Service Role In A Healthcare Setting.

  • Knowledge Of Medical Terminology: A Strong Understanding Of Medical Terminology Is Required For This Position. This Includes Knowledge Of Common Medical Procedures, Diagnoses, And Insurance Terminology. This Ensures That The Candidate Can Accurately Communicate With Patients And Insurance Companies.

  • Excellent Customer Service Skills: As A Clinic Patient Access Representative, The Candidate Will Be The First Point Of Contact For Patients. Therefore, Strong Customer Service Skills Are Essential. This Includes The Ability To Handle Difficult Situations, Empathy, And Effective Communication Skills.

  • Proficiency In Computer Applications: Allina Health System Uses Various Computer Systems And Software For Patient Registration And Scheduling. The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Computer Applications, Including Microsoft Office And Electronic Medical Record Systems.
