
Fire Life Safety Director - Commercial Building

As a Fire Life Safety Director, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the protection of employees, visitors, and property within the building. - Develop and implement fire safety protocols and procedures for the commercial building in accordance with local and national regulations.
- Conduct regular inspections of the building to identify potential fire hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Train and educate employees and building occupants on fire safety protocols and emergency procedures.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all fire-related emergencies and coordinate with local emergency services as needed.
- Monitor and maintain all fire safety equipment, including fire alarms, extinguishers, and sprinkler systems, to ensure they are in proper working condition.
- Conduct regular fire drills and exercises to test the effectiveness of emergency protocols and identify areas for improvement.
- Keep accurate records of all fire safety inspections, training sessions, and emergency responses.
- Collaborate with building management and other departments to ensure all safety measures are being followed and address any safety concerns.
- Stay up-to-date on industry developments and advancements in fire safety technology to continuously improve the safety and security of the building.
- Serve as a role model for safe and responsible behavior within the building and lead by example in promoting a culture of safety.
Relevant Education And Training: A Fire Life Safety Director Should Have A Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Equivalent, Along With Specialized Training In Fire Safety And Emergency Response. A Degree In Fire Science Or A Related Field Is Preferred.
Experience In Fire Safety Management: Candidates Should Have A Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience In Fire Safety Management, Preferably In A Commercial Building Environment. This Experience Should Include Developing And Implementing Fire Safety Protocols And Conducting Regular Fire Drills.
Knowledge Of Fire Codes And Regulations: A Fire Life Safety Director Must Have A Thorough Understanding Of Local, State, And Federal Fire Codes And Regulations. This Includes Knowledge Of Building Construction And Fire Protection Systems, Such As Sprinklers, Fire Alarms, And Fire Extinguishers.
Strong Communication And Leadership Skills: As A Key Member Of The Building Management Team, A Fire Life Safety Director Must Have Excellent Communication And Leadership Skills. This Includes The Ability To Effectively Train And Supervise Fire Safety Personnel, As Well As Communicate With Building Occupants During Emergencies.
Cpr And First Aid Certification: Cpr And First Aid Certification Is Typically Required For A Fire Life Safety Director Position. This Ensures That The Director Is Able To Provide Immediate Medical Assistance In Case Of A Fire Or Other Emergency. Additional Certifications, Such As Fire Safety Director, May Also Be Required Depending On The Specific Job Requirements.
