- Train and handle explosive detection dogs to ensure they are proficient in detecting and alerting to explosive materials.
- Conduct regular training sessions with the K9s to maintain their skills and improve their abilities.
- Work closely with clients to understand their security needs and develop effective plans for utilizing the K9s in their specific environment.
- Conduct thorough security sweeps of designated areas using the K9s, following established protocols and procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of K9 training, performance, and any incidents or findings.
- Continuously monitor the health and well-being of the K9s, promptly reporting any concerns or issues to superiors.
- Collaborate with other security personnel to ensure the overall safety and security of the clients and their premises.
- Keep up-to-date with industry standards and techniques for handling and training explosive detection dogs.
- Represent the company in a professional and courteous manner at all times, maintaining a positive image and relationship with clients.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations, promoting a safe and secure work environment.
Prior Experience Working With And Handling Working Dogs, Preferably In The Field Of Explosive Detection.
Completion Of A Recognized K9 Training Program, Such As The National Police Canine Association (Npca) Explosive Detection Certification Program.
Knowledge And Understanding Of Explosive Detection Techniques, As Well As Local, State, And Federal Laws And Regulations Related To Working With K9S.
Strong Physical Fitness And Ability To Work In Various Weather Conditions, As Well As The Ability To Handle And Control A Large, Powerful Working Dog.
Excellent Communication And Teamwork Skills, As Well As The Ability To Maintain Accurate Records And Reports Related To K9 Activities And Deployments.
