  1. Train and handle explosive detection K9s to effectively identify and locate potential threats in various environments and situations.
  2. Maintain a high level of proficiency in handling and caring for K9s, including obedience training, grooming, and health monitoring.
  3. Conduct regular training exercises and drills to ensure K9s are prepared for real-life scenarios.
  4. Work closely with team members and security personnel to develop and implement effective security protocols.

  6. Conduct thorough searches of people, buildings, and vehicles using K9s to ensure the safety of clients and the public.

  8. Adhere to company and industry safety standards and protocols at all times.
  9. Continuously stay updated on industry trends and advancements in explosive detection K9 handling and training techniques.

Job Qualifications
  • Previous Experience Working With K9S: Candidates For An Explosive Detection K9 Handler Position At Allied Universal Should Have Previous Experience Working With K9S, Either As A Trainer, Handler, Or In A Military Or Law Enforcement Setting.

  • Certified K9 Handler: Candidates Should Be Certified As A K9 Handler Through A Recognized Training Program, Such As The National Narcotic Detector Dog Association (Nndda) Or The North American Police Work Dog Association (Napwda).

  • Knowledge Of Explosive Detection Techniques: A Strong Understanding Of Explosive Detection Techniques And Procedures Is Essential For This Role. Candidates Should Be Familiar With Different Types Of Explosives, How To Handle Them Safely, And How To Train And Work With A K9 To Detect Them.

  • Physical Fitness: This Job Can Be Physically Demanding, As It Requires Handling And Controlling A Highly Trained And Energetic K9. Candidates Should Be In Good Physical Condition And Able To Keep Up With The Demands Of The Job.

  • Security Clearance: Due To The Sensitive Nature Of This Work, Candidates For An Explosive Detection K9 Handler Position Should Be Able To Pass A Thorough Background Check And Obtain A Security Clearance. This May Include A Criminal History Check And Drug Screening.
