Job Description

  1. Oversee the daily operations of the grocery department, including ordering, receiving, stocking, and merchandising of products.
  2. Maintain inventory levels and ensure that the store is adequately stocked with a variety of fresh and high-quality products.
  3. Monitor product quality and expiration dates, and proactively address any issues to ensure customer satisfaction.
  4. Train, mentor, and lead a team of grocery department employees to achieve high levels of productivity and customer service.
  5. Conduct regular team meetings to communicate goals, expectations, and updates related to the grocery department.
  6. Create and implement strategies to drive sales and increase profitability in the grocery department.
  7. Ensure that the store is clean, organized, and visually appealing at all times.
  8. Collaborate with other department managers to coordinate promotions, sales, and events to maximize customer engagement and sales.
  9. Monitor and analyze sales data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  10. Respond to customer inquiries, complaints, and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  11. Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines to maintain a safe and healthy environment for customers and employees.
  12. Stay updated on industry trends and competitor activities to make informed decisions and maintain a competitive edge.
  13. Uphold company policies and procedures and enforce them among the grocery department team.
  14. Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback, coaching, and training to team members to ensure continuous growth and development.
  15. Represent the store in a positive and professional manner at all times.
