Welcome to the Ace Hardware family! We are currently seeking enthusiastic and knowledgeable individuals to join our Seasonal Garden Center team. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to help customers create and maintain beautiful gardens and outdoor spaces. Our ideal candidate has a passion for gardening and a desire to provide exceptional customer service. If you have a green thumb and a friendly attitude, we want you on our team!

  1. Greet and welcome customers to the garden center, providing a warm and friendly atmosphere.
  2. Assist customers in selecting and purchasing plants, tools, and other gardening supplies.
  3. Provide expert knowledge and advice on gardening techniques and product recommendations.
  4. Maintain a clean and organized garden center, including restocking shelves and watering plants.
  5. Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently using the store's point-of-sale system.
  6. Proactively engage with customers to build relationships and ensure satisfaction.
  7. Continuously expand knowledge of gardening products and trends to better assist customers.
  8. Collaborate with team members to achieve sales goals and maintain a positive work environment.
  9. Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for customers.
  10. Assist with inventory management, including receiving and stocking merchandise.
  11. Participate in training and development opportunities provided by the company.
  12. Represent the Ace Hardware brand by upholding the company's values and providing exceptional customer service at all times.

Job Qualifications
  • Knowledge Of Gardening And Horticulture: A Seasonal Garden Center Job At Ace Hardware Would Require A Strong Understanding Of Gardening Techniques, Plant Care, And Horticulture Principles. This Includes Knowledge Of Different Types Of Plants, Soil Types, Watering And Fertilizing Methods, And Pest Control.

  • Customer Service Skills: As A Seasonal Garden Center Employee, You Will Be Interacting With Customers On A Daily Basis. Strong Customer Service Skills, Including Being Friendly, Approachable, And Helpful, Are Essential For This Role. This Includes The Ability To Answer Customer Questions, Make Recommendations, And Provide Excellent Service.

  • Physical Fitness And Stamina: A Seasonal Garden Center Job Can Be Physically Demanding, As It May Involve Lifting Heavy Bags Of Soil Or Plants, Standing For Long Periods, And Working Outdoors In Various Weather Conditions. The Ideal Candidate Should Be Physically Fit And Able To Handle The Physical Demands Of The Job.

  • Sales And Merchandising Experience: Working In A Garden Center Also Involves Selling Products And Creating Appealing Displays To Attract Customers. Previous Experience In Sales And/Or Merchandising Would Be Beneficial For This Role.

  • Availability And Flexibility: As A Seasonal Job, This Position May Require Working Weekends, Evenings, And Holidays, Depending On The Store's Operating Hours. The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Flexible Schedule And Be Available To Work During Peak Times, Such As Spring And Summer.
