Ace Hardware is seeking a highly motivated and knowledgeable Retail Equine Associate to join our team. In this role, you will have the chance to combine your love for horses with your retail skills to provide exceptional service to our equine customers.   1. Provide exceptional customer service to equine customers by greeting them warmly, understanding their needs, and recommending appropriate products and services.
  2. Utilize extensive knowledge of equine care and products to assist customers in making informed purchasing decisions.
  3. Maintain a thorough understanding of inventory and product availability, and assist with ordering and stocking as needed.
  4. Communicate effectively with customers, colleagues, and management to ensure a positive and seamless shopping experience.
  5. Demonstrate a friendly and approachable attitude towards customers and create a welcoming atmosphere in the equine department.
  6. Proactively identify and resolve customer complaints or concerns, escalating to management when necessary.
  7. Stay up-to-date on industry trends and product knowledge in the equine market to provide accurate and relevant information to customers.
  8. Work collaboratively with team members to ensure the equine department is well-maintained, organized, and fully stocked.
  9. Assist with visual merchandising and product displays to showcase new and featured equine products.
  10. Adhere to all store policies and procedures, including but not limited to cash handling and inventory management.
  11. Continuously strive to meet and exceed sales goals and contribute to the overall success of the equine department.
  12. Attend and participate in training sessions and meetings to enhance product and service knowledge.
  13. Maintain a clean and safe working environment by following company safety policies and procedures.
  14. Flexibly work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays, to meet the needs of the business.
  15. Represent Ace Hardware in a professional and positive manner at all times.

  • Knowledge Of Equine Products And Supplies: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Equine Products, Such As Feed, Grooming Supplies, And Tack. They Should Also Be Familiar With The Specific Needs And Care Of Horses.

  • Customer Service Skills: As A Retail Equine Associate, The Candidate Will Be Interacting With Customers Daily. Strong Customer Service Skills, Including The Ability To Provide Product Recommendations And Answer Questions About Equine Care, Are Essential.

  • Sales Experience: The Candidate Should Have Previous Sales Experience, Preferably In A Retail Setting. They Should Be Comfortable With Upselling And Meeting Sales Goals.

  • Physical Ability: Working In A Retail Environment Can Be Physically Demanding, Especially When Handling Larger Equine Products. The Candidate Should Be Able To Lift And Move Heavy Objects, As Well As Stand For Extended Periods Of Time.

  • Team Player: The Candidate Should Be Able To Work Well In A Team Environment And Communicate Effectively With Coworkers. They Should Also Be Willing To Assist With Tasks Outside Of Their Primary Responsibilities, Such As Restocking Shelves Or Helping With Store Events.
