  3. Utilize surveillance equipment and conduct regular checks to identify potential security risks.
  4. Conduct thorough investigations of any reported incidents and maintain accurate records.
  5. Implement and enforce store policies and procedures related to loss prevention.
  6. Collaborate with store management to develop and implement loss prevention strategies.
  7. Train and educate store employees on loss prevention best practices and procedures.
  8. Conduct regular audits of inventory and cash handling processes to identify and prevent potential losses.
  9. Respond to and resolve any customer or employee concerns related to safety and security.
  10. Stay up-to-date on industry trends and advancements in loss prevention techniques.
  11. Maintain a professional and approachable demeanor at all times to provide exceptional customer service.
  12. Communicate effectively and efficiently with store management and team members.
  13. Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
  14. Stay vigilant and proactive in identifying and addressing potential security threats.
  15. Take appropriate action in the event of an emergency, such as a fire, natural disaster, or medical emergency.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Basic Educational Qualification Is Necessary For A Loss Prevention Officer Role At Ace Hardware. This Ensures That The Candidate Has A Basic Understanding Of Math, Communication, And Problem-Solving Skills.

  • Previous Experience In Security Or Loss Prevention: Candidates With Prior Experience In Security Or Loss Prevention Will Be Preferred For The Role. This Experience Can Be From A Similar Retail Setting Or From A Law Enforcement Background.

  • Excellent Communication And Observation Skills: A Loss Prevention Officer Needs To Be Able To Communicate Effectively With Both Customers And Store Employees. They Should Also Have Strong Observation Skills To Identify Suspicious Behavior And Potential Theft.

  • Physical Fitness And Ability To Handle Confrontations: The Job Of A Loss Prevention Officer Can Be Physically Demanding, Requiring The Ability To Stand For Long Periods And Chase Suspects If Necessary. They Should Also Have The Confidence And Ability To Handle Confrontations With Potential Thieves In A Calm And Professional Manner.
