- Train new cashiers on proper procedures and protocols for handling cash transactions and customer inquiries.
- Manage daily cash and credit card transactions, ensuring accuracy and timely deposits.
- Monitor and maintain cashiers' productivity and efficiency, identifying areas for improvement and implementing training as needed.
- Communicate with store management to ensure adequate staffing levels and coverage during busy periods.
- Resolve any customer complaints or issues in a professional and timely manner.
- Ensure that all cashiers are following proper procedures for handling returns, exchanges, and voids.
- Perform regular audits of cash registers and report any discrepancies or errors.
- Maintain a clean and organized cashier area, including restocking supplies and ensuring all equipment is in working order.
- Collaborate with other department heads to ensure smooth operations and a positive shopping experience for customers.
- Stay updated on current promotions, products, and pricing to accurately answer customer questions.
- Participate in regular team meetings and provide feedback and suggestions for improving customer service and operations.
- Uphold company policies and procedures, including safety and security protocols.
- Act as a positive role model for the cashier team, promoting a strong work ethic and dedication to excellent customer service.
- Assist with other tasks and duties as needed, including opening and closing procedures and inventory management.
Experience In Retail: A Head Cashier At Ace Hardware Should Have A Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In A Retail Setting, Preferably In A Hardware Or Home Improvement Store. This Experience Should Include Cash Handling, Customer Service, And Supervisory Roles.
Strong Leadership Skills: As A Head Cashier, You Will Be Responsible For Managing A Team Of Cashiers. Therefore, You Should Have Excellent Leadership Skills, Including The Ability To Delegate Tasks, Provide Training, And Resolve Conflicts.
Cash Handling Expertise: As The Head Of The Cashiers, You Will Be Responsible For All Cash Handling Processes, Including Opening And Closing The Registers, Counting And Balancing The Cash Drawer, And Ensuring The Accuracy Of Transactions. Therefore, You Should Have Strong Math Skills And Be Comfortable Handling Large Amounts Of Cash.
