  1. Lead and manage a specific department within the store, ensuring its success and contributing to the overall success of the store.
  2. Develop and implement effective strategies to achieve department goals and targets.
  3. Train, coach, and motivate team members to deliver exceptional customer service and maximize sales.
  4. Ensure products are displayed and merchandised in an attractive and organized manner.
  5. Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the department's products to assist customers and provide recommendations.
  6. Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and returns in a professional and timely manner.
  7. Monitor inventory levels and work with the store manager to ensure adequate stock levels at all times.
  8. Collaborate with other department leads and team members to ensure a seamless and positive shopping experience for customers.
  9. Conduct regular meetings with team members to communicate updates, goals, and expectations.
  10. Uphold company policies and procedures, including safety and security protocols.
  11. Assist with opening and closing procedures of the store.
  12. Continuously seek opportunities for improvement and make recommendations to the store manager.
  13. Handle cash transactions and maintain accurate records.
  14. Resolve any staffing issues or conflicts that may arise within the department.
  15. Maintain a positive and professional attitude at all times, representing the company's values and brand.

Job Qualifications
  • Strong Leadership Skills: A Department Lead At Ace Hardware Must Have The Ability To Effectively Lead And Manage A Team Of Employees. This Includes Delegating Tasks, Providing Guidance And Direction, And Resolving Conflicts.

  • Retail Experience: Previous Experience In A Retail Environment, Particularly In The Hardware Industry, Is Highly Desirable For A Department Lead At Ace Hardware. This Includes Knowledge Of Inventory Management, Customer Service, And Sales Techniques.

  • Excellent Communication Skills: As A Key Holder, The Department Lead Will Be Responsible For Communicating With Both Employees And Customers. They Must Have Strong Verbal And Written Communication Skills To Effectively Convey Information And Address Any Issues That May Arise.

  • Organizational Skills: A Department Lead Must Be Highly Organized In Order To Manage The Flow Of Merchandise, Stock Shelves, And Ensure That The Store Is Clean And Well-Maintained. They Must Also Be Able To Prioritize Tasks And Manage Their Time Effectively.

  • Product Knowledge: In Order To Provide Excellent Customer Service And Assist With Sales, A Department Lead Should Have A Strong Understanding Of The Products Sold At Ace Hardware. This Includes Knowledge Of Hardware, Tools, And Building Materials, As Well As The Ability To Learn About New Products As They Become Available.
